We booked this cruise as a treat for my mother and aunt. In all, there were 4 adults, and no children.
We left out of New Orleans, which is a few hours drive for us, and purchased the priority boarding package. Our time to board was between 1 pm and 1:30 pm. This was a complete waste of money, as there was no PRIORITY boarding. The terminal traffic was horrible, with stop and go traffic as people unloaded in the street. DH dropped us off, and a porter took our luggage. He left to park, and we went inside the terminal to wait. After he returned, the line of people waiting to board had extended down into the hallway past the terminal doors. Although it moved at a good pace, we still were standing in line for well over an hour. There was no separate line for priority boarding. Once we made it to the check in desk, it took less than 20 minutes to get us all checked in, and ready to board. However, we were given a revised itinerary for the ports that we would be stopping at. 3 out of 4 had time cut from them, and we were given no explanation as to why.
Not very long after we got to our cabins, some of our luggage arrived, and we began to unpack. My mother and aunt were in an adjoining room, and were still waiting on their luggage. I was pleased with the storage of the room and the size of the shower is probably the largest one I've seen on a cruise yet. We both had balcony cabins, but I am not sure of the category.
