If you're in the market for a cruise vacation, the Carnival Glory is a solid choice. I recently spent seven days on the ship, and found it to be the perfect amount of time. Not too long, but long enough to fully experience all the amenities the ship has to offer. I've been on two cruises out of New Orleans, and it's my favorite departure location.

The Glory is starting to show its age a bit, with some of the furniture looking worn, but overall it's still a decent ship. One tip for future cruisers: don't bring as much stuff with you as we did. We had a lot of bags and it made it difficult to check into our stateroom until 1:30.

The stateroom itself was comfortable, and we had an oceanview room (2419 aft) which was close enough to the ship's screws to really feel like you were on a boat. We had been in this area on the Magic and Valor ships before and it was just as nice. The trip itself was great, with no major weather issues on the way to or from New Orleans.

Ocean View

The furniture looked a little worn out, but the stateroom was comfortable.
