My husband, son (4) and I recently traveled on the Wish with our friends and their 8 year old daughter. We are big Disney fans, travel to Disney world multiple times a year, the cruise seemed like a natural progression. My husband has been on several cruises and was very excited for my son and I to go on our first cruise. We did a significant amount of research leading up to the trip, planned our days out wisely, signed in at midnight 30 days before cruise date to get an early on-boarding time. Ready to cruise. Our onboarding time was 11:15, when initially entering the terminal it seemed like a streamlined system and should be fairly smooth. By 12:30 no one had boarded and no information had been communicated about the delay. By now the terminal was completely packed and was chaos. We didn't start boarding until 1:30 and still were never told the delay.

In our research we became aware that most people head to the buffet or to take a tour of the ship for the open houses. We planned to make a b-line straight to the pool, re-arranged our luggage to have a backpack of our swim gear with us. Made it to the pool, had our pick of any lounge chairs we wanted (we were literally the only people at the pool), kids rode the Aqua mouse twice with no wait, sun was shinning, seemed to be a perfect kick off to our trip. While the kids were swimming the adults grabbed a cocktail and kicked back in lounge chairs and that's where the fun ended. I was approached by a waiter covered in cooler bags trying to sell me bottled water for my room. I said no thank you, he moved on to trying to sell me bottles of wine for the room, said no thank you. He then proceeded to pester me for over 20 minutes about buying the water " you are going to get severally dehydrated. Your skin is going to look bad if you don't buy bottled water for your room." He just wouldn't leave me alone. I finally just went and got in the pool with the kids so he would stop pestering me. After some time I see the same waiter now bothering my husband, I could hear my husband say "how much do I need to pay you to get you to leave us alone" Well apparently it was $277! The waiter later came up to me in the pool to tell me he got my husband to buy water and wine for our room, with a smirk. I was really appalled.

After the pool we went to our rooms for the kids to have a rest and shower up, but our luggage wasn't there (about 3:30pm). Our bags finally came around 5:00, not enough time to wash hair before the early dinner 5:45, so pool hair it was. First night was Arendalle, the food was good, but the characters never stopped at our table (they did at some tables) and Olaf never came out! Major bummer for our kids and we were rushed out of there. We headed into bad weather, captain warned us the winds were going to be very high and would be a bumpy ride over night as we need to maintain a high speed to make it to port in Nassau the next day. The next day in Nassua we planned to stay on the ship and enjoy the amenities. Well we could not pull into port, it was too rough and so we just had a day at sea. Which meant the ship and all of the amenities were packed. Tried to eat at the buffet in the morning and there was no where to sit. Had to just take a few things back to the room. The line for the incredi-games was hours long.

Castaway Cay

We had bad weather, high winds, which meant none of the excursions were available. Pelican plunge was closed too. While the beach was beautiful, there just wasn't enough to do. The beach was also quite dirty, our son stepped on a knife and a fork and we were the first people on the beach. Unfortunately most of the servers on the island were the same disgruntled servers that were on the ship and were even more rude while in sand.
