We returned from a Noordam -Christmas Cruise on the 17th December 2022 -Sydney to Sydney. and sadly we found Holland America standards had fallen dramatically. We have always had a very good experience on the many Holland America cruises we have undertaken in the past.
The food was very substandard and to receive a decent meal the menu indicated payment of surcharge was required. The lunch menu in the dining room rarely changed. The coffee on the ship (free or paid) was very poor.
There is cost cutting evident in the overall operations such as entertainment, daily activities, lectures and dining experience.The absence of a bridge director was dissapointing.
Our cabin was forward on Rotterdam deck. It was a lovely cabin apart from movement during rough weather.
