As the title suggested, this was our first cruise and we did the Heroes Sail Free promo. We sailed without kids. After reading reviews, we went in with low expectations. We ordered the License to Chill package based on the embark/disembark process we read about in reviews and we already had the boat drinks package, so we upgraded. You’ll really have to gauge whether the boat drink package is worth it or not for you. The most expensive cocktail I ran across was $15. With our package, we could only do drinks less than $12, which I hadn’t known beforehand and found annoying. Don’t forget, if you do an all-inclusive resort excursion, that’s most of your day with drinks included in that extra price.

Food: We are at JWB and Fins. I actually liked Fins better. I felt like the only difference was that JWB had steak and bigger portions, not worth the upgrade to me. I liked the food and smaller portions better at Fins. Breakfast was better at JWB though.

For those with kids, I can offer this: I did look in the teen room and it was very small (like a dorm small) with at least one video game console. Small kids under childcare travelled to/from meals by holding onto a rope, I noticed.

Cabin Review

We stayed in an oceanview room furthest from the elevators. I think it was the front of the ship. Our room was great except the “king bed” was two twins pushed together and you could feel the middle. We slept great though. There is one American outlet, but there is a USB port and a USB-C port. All the reviews about water running out of the shower did happen, just be careful and use the slippers if given (free) and towels. There’s a closet and a safe, plenty of storage space and hooks, I felt.

Port Reviews

Palm Beach

Nothing to do at port except board the ship

Freeport

There's a little shopping area right outside the ship with some local vendors. We did the Viva Wyndham excursion. It was about a 20-30 minute drive and the driver tells you about the area. We rode a double decker bus, enclosed on bottom and open on top. Someone mentioned to bring a water proof lanyard for your room key and I did. I thought that was a nice suggestion. You don't need your passport for excursions, just the room key. The beach we went to was nice even on a cloudy 70 degree day. Water was chilly, but not ice cold and this was at the end of December.
