We chose this cruise since originally my husband and I went on the Mardi Gras. This time we brought my Uncle and our 2 sons. We always book the corner excel suite that is new to the xl vessel and absolutely love it. Just to forewarn anyone- these counter suite to the front of the boat, although amazing, have a few cons. First the wind at the front of the boat can make the large wrap around balcony you have almost impossible to use. Also if you are on the lower levels, the crews spot to smoke and relax are right below you. We are not smokers so the smell did get to us at times and the noise. Also please watch the rooms you are booking. We had no idea there were junior balcony’s which, like it says, makes the room a lot smaller. We accidentally booked this for my uncle and 2 boys which made it a little crammed for them. Plenty to do on the boat. We experienced the bolt (15.00 pp which gives 2 laps), played mini golf, went to the arcade, visited all of the pools except for the Havana since we did not have access and can I say… all of the food!!! The restaurants are incredible! The chicken parm at cucina de capitano is to die for! Chi bang is a great addition but not my first go to. If you are signed up for any time or your time dining, you will need to make a reservation for where you will be going that night. You can only check in when you are ready so keep that in mind as the wait times can get to over 90 minutes! We did go to the steak house one night. For myself and my family, we probably won’t do that again being that the food is just as good in the other restaurants. The boat was clean and staff was nice. I just don’t think they have enough staff. Each time we ordered drinks, they would never arrive or would arrive with dessert so we actually would start dinner by stopping by a bar to pick up soda and drinks. Guys burger joint is a must and on these new ships, Shaqs chicken and street eats as well! My husband and I had passed to the loft 19 that was included in our room. I would rent a cabana if it wasn’t included. It was a step above serenity do not a lot of people have access. In my opinion, it’s worth the price but that’s for me since it will guarantee seats outside for you and your family. Overall a great experience for the shows, to the activities, and the casino. This was my first trip into the casino out of all of the times I have gone on cruises. Actually ended up winning some from the slots! We are booked to go back again in October 2023!
We loved the excel corner suite. It has plenty of room, but he luxury bathroom, wrap around balcony. Only downfall is the wind at the front of the boat.
A beautiful port.
