Post pandemic excited to get back to cruising. Booked Allure in October and quickly saw how things have changed. I am all for the cruise lines trying to make up for lost money but not at the expense of customers and in this case ones that routinely do 3-4 cruises a year strictly with RCCL. 39 with RCCL alone in 12 years.
Had Oasis booked already so we decided to go thinking maybe just a rare bad experience. Boarded, got to our cabins and the hallway and cabin stunk. The rows of cabins near us had a water leak. The furniture was in the hallway. Went to guest services and were flat out told no cabins available so couldn’t be moved. The smell continued day two. Went to guest services to ask for at least the hallway and room to be treated for smell. We were offered to upgrade to another room for a fee. My head almost exploded. Lied to in our face.Rep seemed to not care. Last day smell getting worse all of a sudden cabins were available and they wanted to move us at midnight of the last night. Lies lies and more lies. So we cancelled our next cruise in lieu of the newer Harmony of the Seas hoping for better results and they kept our deposit no matter how many customer reps and supervisors we spoke to! Leaving RCCL for good. Since recently cruised on Disney. OMG what a difference from customer service to the food and entertainment. The main dining room food on Disney is what you get on Chops and Pay for dining on RCCL and in some cases better. Main dining some food on RCCL like the Butternut Squash Risotto was inedible. Would not feed our dogs with it. The only difference is Royals Oasis class is impossible to match but the service and customer service especially is bad, really bad on RCCl.MSC has offered us equal to Diamond status on their ships, The NCL Prima looks amazing and then there is Virgin. Time to move on. Our brother already did so we are taking the rest of our family and friends with us so all you other disappointed RCCL customers there are better options…
