My sister booked a cruise and I decided to join her. The itinerary was really great and we enjoyed all of the ports. The staff are probably not treated all that well by the employer as some were very good and many were not...rushed, inefficient, and likely not trained. Our cabin steward was fantastic. I had only been on smaller cruise lines before (Azamara and Viking ocean cruises) and would not ever go back to RCI. It has everything that the smaller cruise lines don't (casinos, smoking, kids and too many people) and had it not been for my sister choosing the cruise, I wouldn't have booked it for myself but I thought that it would be a good experience nonetheless and I was looking forward to travelling with her. The food was fine but nothing special. Getting our reservations in the main dining room was very difficult because the staff made mistakes. Overall the cruise was fine but I wouldn't recommend this line.

The main problem was their accounting department. We had paid the full amount in June. But they charged each of us again within a day of our paying! I called my credit card number and the second payment was reversed. When we got to Venice a day before the cruise our travel agent advised that we couldn't board the ship because we hadn't paid!! We didn't have the receipts with us of course because we had no idea that this was going to be a problem! So of course we paid again. It has taken 6 months for my money to be finally returned. Never again RCI.
