Three days at sea with not much to do. Trivia game, working on a puzzle; we did not even see a movie posted on those days. Looking for things to do in the evening all we saw was music here, music there, and more music on stage. Only four hours in one town--not nearly enough. Akoroa would have been a better stop than Lyttelton (though we did go up the gondula). Did not like having to leave room by 8 AM on last day and off ship at 9 AM when our plane didn't leave until 4 PM.
On the good side...loved the size of the ship and number of passengers. Never had a wait anywhere. The staff was exceptional. Helpful, courteous, and friendly. The first morning I was standing in the open doorway to staff area waiting for a staff member to come by. A man showed up and asked if he could help me. I informed him I would like ice in my personal tumbler. He said he'd help me with that and turned around to go get the ice. I couldn't see him but could hear the ice machine working. Two, then three other staff members walked by saying "Good morning Captain." The captain was getting my ice!!! How unbelievably nice was that!!
Room was nice and well taken care of. When I purchased the "upgrade" I was told the refrigerator would be restocked twice a day. It was only once a day.
