I was on the NCL Breakaway in Oct 2023 with my family and had a great vacation to Canada! The GEM was a totally different experience. Bartenders need to be more attentive and friendlier. Some are rude particular the bartenders in the Outdoor bar on the rear of the ship and below O'sheehan's was hit and miss. They are not greeting and don't keep track of the order in which people arrive to the bar. Others and I felt invisible being skipped multiple times to order a drink. It's like you have to be rude to be served! The stress is not why I took a cruise vacation! Room service also had extremely poor-quality food! Most of it was inedible. I went to the front desk area with my TV remote control and asked for batteries because they were dead, the lady at the desk was rude and I seemed to be a bother which is not good customer service. Needless to say, I had to go back to the room and leave remote and call 0. Way to be helpful and pleasant front desk lady! NOT. The comedian was pretty bad and me and many others walked out during the horrible show. We had some rough seas and the cabin next to me seemed to have had the wall bed slamming down like the wall was going to fall. I called the front desk a few times after a loooong wait and they said they were going to send someone and never did. I dealt with the slamming of the springs and wall bed for a day and a half! Needless to say, sleepless nights for the last 2 days. 6 hours in Bermuda was pretty lame and felt so rushed that it was stressful and unenjoyable. Shore excursions were way too expensive for what you receive. Not worth half of what I paid. Also, the deal or no deal is a rip off and way too expensive for the few winners and the few prizes that do get handed out are not so good. Also, not worth the money to play. I’d rather loose at the slot machines at least I would be entertained for a while. I would deal with everything I was displeased with if the bartenders were better at their jobs and made it a pleasant experience to relax, sit down and have a drink. They need to retrain the entire bartending staff IMO.
