Back in 2019 my husband and I booked a Viking River cruise. After having our trip cancelled, we opted for the vouchers (big mistake) and rebooked and rebooked again. Because of the ongoing Covid vaccine requirements in Europe, we finally gave up on the river cruise and booked the Classic Panama Canal on the Star, since we had to use our vouchers by the end of the year.

Everything about our trip went well. The flights purchased through Viking were exactly what I would've picked out myself. They were all on time and we arrived in Panama City, Panama mid afternoon. After clearing customs, the Viking reps met us and the other cruisers on that flight. We boarded very nice buses and were driven to Colon, where we boarded the ship. The boarding process and the safety briefing were efficient and we were soon relaxing in our cabin.

We enjoyed everything about the trip. The food was excellent. The wine included with lunch and dinner was pretty good, but since this cruise included the Silver Spirits package, we often picked other selections. The wine stewards were very good at finding the perfect wine choice for us.

Cabin Review

Loved the decor and everything was perfectly arranged. The bathroom was quite spacious for a ship! We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the verandah every day.
