This was our first Viking Ocean cruise. It will not be our last. The ship is beautiful. The amenities are spectacular from the plethora of areas to just take it easy to the spa. And all with no kids and no pressure to purchase anything else. The Chef's Table restaurant has awesome service and awesome food. We got the wine pairings with the meal and it was a 5 star experience. We also tried Manfredi's, but were not impressed with it, but, between Chef's Table and the Restaurant, we had two great dining options. The excursions were very good, but it almost felt bad to leave the ship since the experience on the ship is so good. I must say that I miss the cabin stewards the most. They kept our cabin stocked and clean, but were completely unobtrusive. We are seriously considering doing a repositioning cruise now so that we can just hang out on the ship and enjoy it without feeling bad about needing to do excursions while we are in places that we have not visited before.
It is a splurge, but go for the ES1, 2, or 3 cabin. Calling it a cabin is not fair. It is a fine hotel suite that happens to be floating.
