It was my first time going on a Viking Cruise and I was a solo traveler. It was so much more than a cruise. I chose Viking because of their reputation and the quality of what they do for their guests. I had never been to Southeast Asia before, but have always been fascinated. I am also into the history The Vietnam War. This trip was not just a cruise, but a fantastic journey through Vietnam and Cambodia and an extended tour of Bangkok. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and made sure everybody was having a good time! Hanoi, Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok, and the temples and palaces we visited were breathtaking and way beyond my expectations. I enjoyed the tuk tuk rides and mingling with the locals. There was not a dull moment. On the Viking Saigon the staff was friendly and accomodating to our needs. The food was excellent (I gained ten pounds!). Every morning a daily itinerary was delivered to my room that detailed the events of the day. That really helped me plan for my day and keep up a good pace. One day we visited an elementary school in Cambodia that is run by the Homestay Volunteer Teachers Organization (HVTO). I was so impressed with the work they were doing with the students that I ended up sponsoring one of the students. I'm helping fund their education. Overall, the tour left me with so many great memories that I would love to go back that way some day. In the meantime, I'm thinking about where I should go on my next tour with Viking!

Cabin Review

French Balcony Stateroom

My cabin was excellent! Well designed and appointed. I really liked the idea that I could fling open the sliding glass door and experience the Mekong River! There was plenty of storage room.
