We chose the Viking cruise because it seemed to have the most to offer. An added bonus was this new ship! We especially enjoyed the common areas both inside and outside. One of our favorite spots was the Finse Terrace. The crew on the Polaris was top notch as well. Our cabin stewards went out of their way to make sure we had whatever we asked for. We celebrated not only New Year’s on board, but also our 48th anniversary, and the crew and Manfredi’s Restaurant made it very special! I highly recommend both Manfredi’s and The Restaurant for dinner. Menus were diverse and the food was delicious! The only recommendation for Viking is for more extensive excursions. Wishing that Polaris, like our sister ship Octantis, had crossed the Antarctic Circle!! And, unfortunately for us, the submarines were inoperable during our cruise, so we were unable to experience that excursion. Overall however, it was the trip of a lifetime!! Viking is first class.

Cabin Review

Nordic Penthouse (with Balcony)

Our cabin was perfect. Best feature, besides the drying closet for our excursion outerwear, was the Nordic window that allowed us to enjoy the outside anytime.
