Sail Date: Jan 2023

My wife, adult daughter and I sailed on Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Sea to the Western Caribbean in January 2023. It’s no surprise to anyone who’s been around cruising that RC has been slipping in quality and service for years. Every cruise gets worse and more perks and amenities are stripped away. Frankly, we only ended up on this RC cruise because of a great price for the Owners Suite.

The Owners Suite, at least ours on the Radiance, is not as marketed. It is billed as a two bedroom suite and the online pictures are awesome. While the living area was spacious and the master bedroom large, the second bedroom and bath were extremely small with little storage. We were expecting two equal bedrooms and two equal baths. A better description would be “Family Suite” as the second bedroom is clearly intended as a children’s bedroom. Truth in advertising avoids unmet expectations.

The balcony of our suite was two decks below the Windjammer balcony. When they hosed down the Windjammer balcony, water rained down on ours. When we embarked, the cushions on our lounges were thoroughly saturated. It took all cruise to drain and dry them. Hopefully, the next guests will enjoy them.
