After our cruise pause, we decided to take a b/2/b on the celebrity apex. 12/30/22 and 1/7/23. When you enter terminal 25 in fort lauderdale the excitement begins. We were in a suite and arrived at the terminal about 10:45 am. We dropped off our luggage from our uber then proceeded to the suite entrance- took just a few minutes go through security then directed up the escalator to the suite lounge area. We sat down and a celebrity rep came to us in less then 10 minutes. The terminal is beautiful, the suite lounge offers beverages and finger foods. Just what we need before boarding a cruise ship! After speaking to a celebrity agent, we proceed to the entrance to the ship on deck #5. walked up a long ramp then enterered the ship. We had an app on our phone- the id cards are placed at the door to your suite/cabin now. We immediately proceeded to our sky suite on deck 10. The room is modern and sleek. We had a large (never large enough) closet on our left and a nice bathroom with a tub, dual farmhouse sink and enclosed toilet. It had a little sitting area that could be used for blowdrying your hair or makeup application. Above the sink is a mirrored wall that opens allowing you to see the actual room and bringing in light. The room itself was pretty comfortable, a small closet with a safe and some drawers. The bed had a cubby end table on one end and another slightly larger table with outlets and the phone on the other. Each had a hanging reading lamp. The room had a couch and small coffee table. One side of the room had three good sized storage drawers. Also a small stocked cooler, with soda, beer and water. A bottle of bubbly was also provided with glasses as was an ice bucket. The nice thing about the that area was that you had a push in table the doubled as a full length mirror when closed or a writing/makeup table when pulled out. It had a desk chair. The balcony was small but adequate for us. We then proceeded to lumanie for lunch- staff was great- Greeted by Cindy the restaurant hostess. Our waiter Nino was also great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We explored the ship. Loved the retreat lounge and sun deck. Unfortunately the sun deck lacked space for those who dislike the sun and prefer the shade Need more covered areas. The deck had its own bar and served light lunch daily if you wanted it. The lounge also had a bar and served snacks at various times during the day. We enjoyed the specialty restaurants- the Grill on the top deck, Eden, the steak house were all great- we do not each sushi and skipped that. Le Petit Chef was enjoyable and the food also good. Definately go once. We rarely used the buffet, but it had a large assortment of food and great as it had different stations, no cafeteria style lines with people cutting in. Entertainment was as expected. Some very good- some mediocre. The social director was ok- but repeated the same stuff for the second week- needs different jokes- some people were even sailing a third week so probably listed to the same stuff three times. Overall staff excellent-service excellent. Shops were high end, but sold used designer bags and watches. Jewelry store sales staff too high pressured IMO.We enjoy just browsing, but they would follow you around. Art gallery not for us- We didn't use the casino at all. Missed the old fashioned ice top martini bar but the staff made great drinks. Like the variety of live music around the ship. Two stops the second week required tenders- not a fan prefer docks- missed labadee Didn't like the hair salon and didn't use the spa too high pressured and expensive.
