The ship was very outdated with tear and wear. Pretty much like a motel standard (mini suite). It had an engine failure and cause huge change of the itinerary. They did not get prepared for hundreds if not thousands of passengers changing the shore excursions booked before their announcement. The machine only allowed booking one adult at a time (did not tell you when you book it) eventually causing me ending up booking two adults but no kids tickets. The app was down. They only had one counter opened at the beginning. So by the time we got to the counter after one hour queue, tickets were sold out and I can’t secure my kids tickets. The next day the local operator managed to get us the kids ticket. I thought I was lucky but actually that was the beginning of the nightmare. We have booked two tours from the cruise company and had sufficient time for transfer from one tour to the other which we have already clarified with the tour staff. Eventually the first tour was hugely delayed simply because of insufficient boat and we need to wait for for more than 30 min just for the boat transfer. We told the tour guide the situation and he said he has informed the operator and they would wait for us. We asked whether we could wait at the big island because the second tour also would be there. He insisted that we must return to mystery island and took the boat there and travelled back again with the rest of the tour. He kept on telling us it was ok. Finally when we reached mystery island, the tour guide disappeared. We need to hold our little kid and try to run to the meeting point. Then of course no one waited us. The operator even questioned whether we have followed the instruction which we did exactly! They also denied that the tour guide has informed us.

The other day schedule also changed. Instead of putting us back to two compatible tours, just simply pushed us to an earlier tour which caused another clash times. Luckily I doubled checked and found out and immediately run to the tour desk before it was closed.

The food was very inconsistent. Most of the time quite poor. As an Asian who also love to travel to other Asian countries many times a year can’t even recognise the food is Asian food at all. The taste was awful as well. I don’t think any Japanese would have ever tasted a Ramen soup served by itself without noodle! A ramen soup with carrot and some chicken strips floating on it. The entertainment was very good though. The Luke’s grill is definitely a must go.

Cabin Review

Wear and tear. Some stinky smell. Enough storage. Bed causing back pain. Poor sound proofing
