My DW and I cruise out of Cape Liberty the majority of the time because of the ease in getting to the port. We have had a couple of cruises cancelled due to Covid, so this was our first cruise since our Celebrity Equinox sailing three years ago. We love the Anthem, having sailed her four times before. We come from the Catskill mountains, and use Yankee Trails Cruise Express. From the time we meet the bus, we are at the terminal in two hours. Great service. Leave the driving to the professionals!
We were traveling with our son and daughter in law, and they picked the bus up just out of Albany. Our arrival time was between 10 and 10:30, and we arrived at 10:15. We were on the ship by 10:40. Cape Liberty has boarding down to a science. Knowing that the Windjammer gets crazy on embarkation day, we elected to grab a bite at the Solarium Bistro. Quiet, clean and great food. We grabbed a cocktail at the pub after lunch and the rooms were ready at 1:00 pm.
Our cabin was a Junior Suite on the hump (7642), and Bruno was our steward. He did a great job, with any and all our requests (as usual, I send a few shirts and my suit jacket out for pressing each cruise), and Bruno was right on top of this.
Cabin 7642, Junior Suite on the hump. If you use the starboard bank of elevators, go the opposite side of the stairs, and our cabin door was right there. Quiet, clean and very comfortable! Our cabin steward Bruno, was a gem!
The warming coaches added to the folks waiting for their bus was a fantastic addition! Great job!
We walked across the parking lot and had lunch at Grill’s Pub and seafood. Fantastic experience, great food. Thank you RADIO for your recommendation of this eatery. We can’t wait to return!
