Our cruise of a lifetime to antarctica was a total waste of time and money. Hal couldn't have screwed up more if it really tried. i'll share just the highlights! our embarkation was a seven hour (two on a bus and five in the terminal) fiasco with ~ 5,000 people crammed into one room with five ships in port and then hal required all passengers to take a covid test on the third day! also, no food or water was made available. at montevideo the captain decided not to move the ship from to punta de esta; however, celebrity moved its ship without problems. instead, we had to endure a five hour roundtrip bus trip, 1.5 hours waiting for a late tour guide and boat and managed to motor by seal island for a while 30 minutes to see the wildlife (saw one of two islands). they promised a one hour lunch stop that never happened, so again no access to food or water for almost nine hours. then the captain decided that it was too rough to go into stanley, so our one chance to see penguins up close and personal didn't happen! had we known this could happen, we would have booked every penguin tour we could have. at ushuaia, we waited 1.5 hours for a tender to the port on a tour and upon return, we waited another 1.5 in cold and windy weather for a tender back to the ship. unacceptable! the last straw was disembarkation where the port closed due to high waves so our last tour was cut in half and once we got to the airport, we found out no luggage had been delivered for any passenger. luggage finally arrived ~almost eight hours after the shipped docked. unbelievable! hal was always our premium choice, but it has lost it. the food was marginal and the bartenders are not well trained. we have cruised royal caribbean and princess since covid and they provided much better service and food than hal.
Excellent cabin and wonderful stewards!
