Loved the Avignon to Lyon itinerary. South of France is spectacular. The cruise itself was good also, they were short staffed but everyone worked very hard to compensate for it. The food was a bit inconsistent, but overall still good. We loved our french balcony room and the set up of the ship including the self serve coffee bar with snacks available all day. The excursions are organized so well and orderly. Your daily schedule is set for you perfectly to make the most out of your trip. All you need to do is pick your excursions and show up for the meals. The cruise ship pianist & vocalist was terrible vocally, but played the piano extremely well. Everyone still had fun regardless. There is no fitness centre except for a running/walking track on the upper deck nor a spa on these small river ships. Despite some of the hick-ups, we would definitely do a Viking river cruise again.
