We went on this cruise due to its location and its destination. Our son and his girlfriend joined us for this 8-night cruise out of NYC Manhattan terminal. We left on NYE and was hoping to enjoy the harbor as we left NYC, but unfortunately it was foggy out and we didn't see anything but a few lights through the fog. It was also cold outside, so didn't really want to be on the outside deck anyways. We got settled quickly and grabbed a bite from the crowded buffet. Took a small nap before dinner then walked around the ship to check it out. We landed in Port Canaveral late due to tide issue, or so they said. We ended up staying the night in Port Canaveral. 1st night we caught a uber to Cocoa Beach and checked out the beach. We stayed on the ship the next day. My son and his GF went to beach and hung out a few hours. It was fairly warm in FL, so a nice change from NYC. We were supposed to go to Bermuda, and they claimed we couldn't due to weather, however, we checked weather, and it was fine there, so no idea why we really didn't go. We ended up at Nassau, which reminded me of Mexico. Lots of vendors and aggressive people at the port for taxis and tours. We ended up walking around the town to check out historical sights and then caught a taxi over to Cabbage Beach. We rented chairs and an umbrella there from some more aggressive people, but settled nicely and enjoyed the beach. Next day we went to the private beach of NCL called Great Stirrup Cay. They offered food and drinks. Lots of chairs but not alot of shade. We tried to rent an umbrella or cabana, and all were taken, so no luck. Next time, lesson learned, book a cabana before getting off the ship. The next day our son and GF had bites all over them. We researched it and think they got sand flea bites, next time bring bug spray.

The ship was very nice, loved the outside deck seating, but useless on day going back to NYC as it was too cold outside to hang out. I did not there was not enough seating places during that last cold sea day coming back to NYC. We wanted to play cards and ended up and a closed bar to grab a table and seat to play. We tried the buffet, but they told us we weren't allowed to hang out there unless eating a meal. We played bingo, son and GF got free cards with Costco booking. I got in some reading on the outside deck when it was nice out. Relaxed alot and would love to do again. Food was very good. We didn't do a drink package but our son and his GF did and they waited a few times for drinks at bars, but drank plenty. Bars were nice in the evening. The piana Howl at the Moon was fun in the evenings for sing alongs. I recommend and recommend.

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom

Nice for an inside cabin, it was small, but worked fine for us. We unpacked and placed suitcases under bed and storage was enough for our clothing. Our inside room as 5689. It has a single bunk above our bed for a 3rd person. It was quiet in evening and I never heard the neighbors. I did hear tables being moved around 2 am, but fell asleep so not a big deal.

Port Reviews

Great Stirrup Cay

Port was beautiful. Book a cabana or umbrella before you get off ship. We may have gotten sand flea bites from this beach. Can't say for sure, but after this beach, 3 of 4 of us had itch bites.
