Norwegian Bliss Review

Will not cruise with NCL ever again. A few shinning moments, but otherwise too many problems.

We've been on many cruises. Mostly Celebrity, Carnival and our favorite Royal Caribbean. My husband and I didn't get to choose this trip, it was our daughters Masters degree present, so she picked it. My parents tried to warn us (They have been on 120+ lost count trips so we listen to them!) not to do NCL and we should have listened.

First the good: The shows in the main theatre were top notch! Especially SIX. I could have gone back for that show but we wanted to try and get in as much as we could on this ship. Also, specialty restaurants were for the most part pretty good and the Local became out favorite place to eat lunch and dinner (which is not a good thing considering the other free restaurants should have been better).

Finally THE VIBE beach club. This place was worth every penny even though it cost as much as the vacation itself for the week. However, when there was more than four thousand people on the ship we didn't want to be on crowded decks, and only card access Vibe beach people can go in. NO ONE ELSE. Not even Haven are allowed in. You have to pay extra to get into the vibe club and the service was lovely! There was at best twenty people tops up there at any time, that's it! So it was our happy place and most times we were the only ones and the jacuzzi was all ours!

Cabin Review

Our room for the club suite was quite good...until you see that every other room above you can see into ALL of your extended balcony. We found everything thrown onto our deck from towels, to papers, cigarette butts! and some other things I hope wasn't bodily fluids on our deck from the rooms above. A lot of times I just didn't want to sit out on it because of the eyes on us. The inside of the cabin is just a standard balcony with a larger shower. Not sure it's worth the upgrade.

Port Reviews

Costa Maya

We always go to Maya Chan for the day and love it! Our lastest trip was no exception. They treat you so well there!

Cozumel

We love Cozumel. Our number one port of choice. We ended up going to Nachi Cocom this time and it was so much better! Waters were clear and lovely to swim in and the service was top notch!

Harvest Caye

Harvest Caye wasn't the "splashiest" port of call, but it has a lovely beach area and the complimentary circular floats in the ocean were a plus! There is no free buffet on the island, you have to bring a credit card with you or cash for everything so this was something my husband thought was just more of the same for this cruise line. Didn't take away from the best walking excursion through butterflies and animals on any island I have ever seen. Wonderful!

The upselling they were doing at the huts was awful though! One gentleman had a simple kayak rental for the family and he ended up getting an upsell to the Mantee excursion and hundreds of dollars more in extras! I was in sales for ten years before going back to school and I know a good salesperson when I hear one! My husband again just shook his head.
