Our arrival on board was made with ease and we initially found our cabin excellent. We made good use of the bar and comfortable lounge area. All meals on board were excellent in selection and presentation. My wife's extremely selective vegan diet was accommodated well by the Chef and staff.

Some of the tours seemed rushed, in the sense that the guides walked too briskly. Many of us older folk did not keep up well. I'm not certain if that was because of time constraints or...?

I believe that the tour size for the Szamos chocolate tour and the Zwack Unicum tour, should be limited to 10 due to the confined areas in the museums. They were crowded and not everyone got to fully enjoy these destinations.

Cabin Review

Veranda Superior

Great cabin layout as before. Everything worked, all amenities were great.

Downside. The mattress was well-used uncomfortable. There was a sewer smell emanating from the bathroom shower drain. We resorted to covering it with a damp towel, so it would not overpower the room.

Port Reviews

Bratislava

In my opinion, this stop was not worth the time afforded. While Bratislava benefits from the cruise ship stops, this is not a place I would visit again. I would rather have skipped this, and spent more time in Vienna and Budapest.

Passau

Started our journey here. Wonderful charm, architecture and Christmas Markets. We spent just enough time here at Passau. This is a city I could relocate to.

Linz (Salzburg)

Linz is also a place I would relocate to. What a beautiful city. Quite a lot to see and do beyond our tours. The Christmas market and area decor for the season was awesome.

Durnstein (Krems)

If you drink wine and are a connoisseur you will enjoy the Abbey and its winery. The abbey itself is a wonder and worth the tour. My preference is that I would have skipped this stop also in favor of more time in Vienna and Budapest.

Vienna

I cannot say enough about this beautiful City. We went to see the Lipizzaner stallions. Incredible. We enjoyed the large and popular Christmas markets and visited the Great Summer residence, Schonbrunn, fascinating history. The charm and architecture again adorned with festive Holiday decor. Would have loved to have spent more time here.

Budapest

Another Beautiful city full of varied architecture in every form. The many Christmas markets were jammed with patrons celebrating the season. The city was decorated throughout. We took in the Chapel Hill tour that included Matthias Church. From there you can enjoy views of the two cities Buda and Pest. We also made our own chocolate molded tidbits at the Szamos chocolate factory and Museum. Then a tour of the Zwack factory and museum where they make prized Unicum. Would have loved to have spent more time here.
