In my opinion, Princess is going downhill and fast! This was the 3rd cruise since 12/21. On the first cruise, I thought it was because of the return from the pandemic, new staffing and short supplies. Next two cruises in April and October 2022 were the same! The food was horrible in the main dining room. Could barely find something on the menu that I was interested in eating. First time in 26 cruises that I actually lost weight without trying!! Surprisingly, the food in the buffet was far superior in taste and choices both at lunch and dinner. The buffet on the Discovery was a little hard to maneuver as different entree choices were different areas that were supposed to be offering the same. The buffet area is huge! This ship is huge! It takes quite awhile to walk from one end to the other.

In a recent notice from Princess, the price of the Specialty dining is increasing in February 2023. As it was on the last cruise 10/2022, you couldn't get reservations once on board anyway. If you couldn't figure out how to use the dining part of the Medallion app. ahead of the cruise, you were out of luck. You must pay at the time of your reservation! What happens if you have to cancel for whatever reason, who knows if you get your money back! New changes like this are not explained in any of the pre-cruise information.

One good thing, the ship's photographers no longer hounded you to take photo's i.e. boarding the ship, at dinner, at ports etc. At $20. a photo how many do you really want to buy anyway.

Cabin Review

Nice spacious cabin. Good bedding. Attentive and friendly room steward.
