I sailed on the Carnival Glory out of New Orleans, departing December 26, 2022.
I am not a snob, nor was this my first time cruising with Carnival. However, it will most certainly be the last. First things first, do not ever take a cruise out of New Orleans unless you are prepared to WALK , very long distances, in glassed-in corridors with the air conditioning turned off. The air conditioners are THERE, but turned off, probably to save money or because they are broken like most other things on a Carnival ship. The air conditioning on the ship also seemed to be turned off to hurry us off the boat - nice!
Bartenders were few and far between - the entire week I could not even get a glass of wine with dinner because the bar was apparently so busy that a drink ordered at the beginning of dinner would not arrive until the end of dinner. Wait times at dinner even for food were extreme - at sea day brunch I waited 30+ minutes for even COFFEE , and at early seating dinner the wait times were extreme. Our waiter would constantly touch and rub all of us at the table - including my 6 year old nephew which he also felt comfortable KISSING on the FACE - and this is at the end of 2022! This guy was extremely creepy and behaved inappropriately. I complained to guest services and was told nothing could be done. Can you imagine if something more serious had happened? This is supposedly a child friendly line but this guy was way TOO friendly and it made every one of us uncomfortable. Food portions were TINY , even standards like the chocolate cake have been slashed down in size , and with their reduced staffing there is absolutely no way that the Cheers package can ever be fully utilized (you can get the 15 alcohol drinks, OR 15 soft drinks but there simply are not enough hours in the day to get the full benefit of the soft drink AND alcohol packages that you paid for.
Horrible ! Washed out dock means you have to ride a rickety catamaran in choppy seas for what seems like forever, only to arrive in a filthy , poverty stricken hovel of a village with nothing to even buy. Carnival should be ASHAMED that they are still sending boats to this port when they obviously know it is in disarray/ partially destroyed
