We decided that because we had lost 4 people close to us in early 2022 that we would take a relaxing cruise to put such a challenging year behind us. It also meant that we would not have to worry about getting Christmas dinner and could just sit back and enjoy the festivities of Christmas.
The cabins are very tired, marked and in need of refurbishment. The staff do not listen to your requests which we found ourselves having to ask for things more than once.
Despite COVID-19 been in existence they tried to sit us with other passengers to eat, therefore less that 1.5 metre distancing. And of course you are eating so are not masked. What a great way to support the spread of the virus. When you raise concerns about this the staff were rude. None of the staff monitored or requested passengers to where masks where they were required. They paid lip service to this requirements with announcements in the Theatre showing the entertainment on tenders to shore etc. Some passengers just ignored the announcements and were not requested to put a mask on by staff.
Cabin Review
The cabins are tired and new refurbishing. The stewards pay no attention to detail. They left dirt on the carpet for over 3 days and never cleaned the bathroom properly. There was dirt on the corner of the bath for over a week. My husband and I had bets on how long it would stay there before being cleaned away. It will still there when we disembarked. We are very tidy people so there would have not been a lot to do in out cabin. All we got as change of toilet paper and a wipe down of the bathroom vanity. I had to ask 3 times, stewards and reception, for a top of shampoo and body wash. Misses a shower one day while we waited.
