This cruise (Papeete to Auckland) was a disappointment from start to finish. Check in was horrible - long queue outside the ship in the hot sun, 5 different check in points over a long distance, being asked for my passport 5 times, then a 2 hour wait in one of the ship's bars because my room wasn't ready. The room (they call them "suites" but I don't think they are good enough to be called that) was very dated looking and worn, and badly in need of renovation (as is the whole ship - it is decades old). The ship has an Italian restaurant and a French restaurant which are very good, however the French restaurant does have a $US60 per person surcharge. The food in the pool grill and the main dining restaurant (called "The Restaurant" ) was very disappointing, and the food there went progressively downhill as the cruise went on. The wifi on board is so bad you effectively don't have wifi. The in-room movies etc are very limited and the activities on board consist of things like bingo and shuffleboard, so not much to do when you have days at sea. A number of the ports require tenders, which sometimes involved a very long wait until a tender turned up to collect you. On a positive note, the staff were very good and very friendly and each destination was good. Overall though, not good value and I would never go on another Silversea voyage.

Cabin Review

Cabin number 506. Shabby and dated - needed renovation. Carpet had stains.
