We chose the cruise because we wanted to be in Antarctica for New Year! This cruise did it for us. The itinerary covered all of the southern tip of South America - East and West Coasts- from Buenos Aires to Santiago de Chile - which was a bonus. We booked very late, hence had to make some compromises on the cabin choice and offshore trips.
Captain navigated through the treacherous waters of the Drake Passage/ Cape Horn and Antarctic Peninsula between storms and made it to most points of interest. It was mostly a pleasant ride so kudos to him.
Neumayer Channel in the Antarctica was an absolute highlight and they used an ice pilot and all 12 officers onboard to make it through the narrow canal.
Good size cabin with king bed, sofa, two arm chairs, desk area, coffee maker in the room, very comfortable bath with two sinks, counter space, jacuzzi tub and shower. Makeup desk with surround mirror and chair outside the bathroom. Ample storage space in the room. Wrap around balcony at the Aft. However, at level 4, ( suite 4185) there is a piece of machinery hanged on the railing which is blocking a good part of the view and interferes with picture taking. They should inform customers of this prior to selling this suite. Also, we had to deal with periodic back up of suer in the toilet. Bad smell. You could feel a bad smell on the balcony as well. This appears to be a problem for this ship in the aft area. Personnel very kind, great service, perfect cleanliness.
