Sail Date: Dec 2022

An epic 3 years in the making, sadly the Grand is showing its 24 years of age and isnt in the same league as the newer ships.

We sailed from Melbourne and down Port Phillip Bay on a balmy Melbourne evening, I have driven around it 100's of thime but this was the first time sailing the Bay, through the Heads at Queenscliffe and into Bass Straight. An uneventful transit to Cape Reinga which we turned at sunset on Christmas Eve.

Where was the big Carols event, why didnt they get hundreds up on the pool decks and run Carols on the big screen, assuming that the majority of pax were Aussies they could have run a Sydney or Melbourne Carols by Candlelight re-r, un.

Cabin Review

Cabin D207.

Despite our best effort, Terence kept the cabin in immaculate condition.

Compared to the Majestic, the room was about 500mm narrower and maybe a metre shorter.

Missed the mid cabin curtain which enables you to get up early (me) and open the outside blinds while someone (my wife) sleeps in.
