We have traveled a lot, but have missed much of the USA. Our friends recommended American Cruise Lines (ACL) for both the quality of the cruise and the excellent on-board speakers and entertainment all keyed to the river and itinerary. We are seeing America on American Cruise Line.

We didn't know about the St. John's river prior to this trip, and while we have visited Florida many times have never been in the towns the ACL cruise visited. The cruise started in Jacksonville with an overnight stay at the Hyatt ensuring we started the cruise rested and relaxed. The Star docked right front of the hotel so embarkation was a breeze. We had our first lunch on departure day, which was excellent and was typical of all the meals on board. Courtney, our Entertainment Director was exceptionally well organized. We had an on-board artist who conducted watercolor classes every day including departure day; all lessons were keyed to the theme of the cruise and cities we visited. We also had a very good speaker who was well versed in NE Florida's social, historical, plants, and animals.

We took a shore excursion almost every day and found them to be entertaining and educational. Green Cove Springs was superb, we will definitely go back for the Manatees and birds. Amelia Island was great as well. The trolley tour guide was excellent showing us the city and regaling us with tales of it's illustrious past residents. We have been to St. Augustine before, but ACL's tour showed us parts of the city we have never visited, the same was true for Jacksonville where we toured several neighborhoods with an architect who loved the city.

Cabin Review

Cabin AA

The cabins are large and well equipped. They have plenty of storage for a week long cruise. The internet was good as was the TV selection. The stewards were excellent as well. The ship is kept in good shape.
