Overall, the cruise was exceptional for the amount of money charged. We especially liked the shore excursions which were made possible by staff member, Aimane Buhamza. He managed to secure us 3 spots on the long sold-out “Christmas in Rome” tour where we got to see the Pope deliver his annual Christmas address to the world from St. Peter’s Square. He not only got that secured for us, but also the Segway tour in Genoa, even though that was also sold out. Our cabin with balcony was good size. The dining room service was very slow, the food, often subpar. The entertainment was adequate. We give them a A for effort. The library on board was well stocked, and the staff overall had a good attitude. Wi-Fi service was very expensive and agonizingly slow (only worked half the time) and when I asked for a discount, the manager was surly, uncaring and inflexible, and insisted we pay the full $210.
