The Celebrity Infinity is 21 years old and it looks it. The decor, carpets and furnishing are dated and tired in appearance.
We had a sky suite which one invisions a large spacious suite, it is not spacious or luxurious. The closet dorrs were broken and cracked loudly every time you opened them. As the doors would not close, the closet light was always on, so at night we had to push two chairs against the closet doors to get the light to stay off. Maintenance came but could not repair the doors. The wood is chpped, cracked and damaged throughout the unit. There is a window in the bathroom which serves no purpose. There is a large safety light in the bathroom which shines through the window in the bathroom eluminating the bedroom. The faucet leaked continually and there were large cracks around the rim of the sink. The unit comes with sufficient storage. The bedding is good but the towels have seen much better days.
What was sweet about the cruise were the staff at the Luminae restaurant. They were kind, caring, efficient, friendly and all the staff excelled at making you feel welcome and cared for. The food which is touted as attributed to Daniel Boulard was mediocre at best. We often ordered from the main dining room which has a larger selection of items. The only thing that salvaged the trip for us was the staff at Luminae.
Unfortunately we arrived the same day and time as the football team after winning the world cup. We got stuck at the airport for half a day, no taxi cabs could or would come to the airport. They chargted 3 times the price to get to our hotel. Any time we had to take a cab, their meter and airconditioning were broken. I hate being taken advantage of just because I am a tourist. We do not apeak Spanish and struggled to communicate with cab drivers or waiters in restaurants where many menus are not in English.
