After doing much research, I chose Hurtigruten for our expedition cruise to Antarctica for two main reasons: I am impressed by their commitment to sustainability AND for such a strong emphasis on science. I heard about Hurtigruten when the famous biologist, Jerry Coyne wrote of his experience on the Amundsen lecturing on biology!

From booking to disembarking, everyone who works for Hurtigruten was professional, friendly, and accommodating. The operation ran so smoothly I was incredibly happy with it all. Kudos in particular to the Expedition Team who showed real enthusiasm for their work, and the evident passion exhibited by the science crew. Our excursions, from the included landings to the optional kayaking and science boats were all spectacular!

The kitchen and service crew were beyond anything I could have expected, and my 12-year old daughter gave the highest compliment by saying she wishes ALL wait persons were as friendly, fun, and professional! The food was not only delicious, but so varied that there is truly something for everyone.
