This cruise was chosen by my parents, a family holiday over Christmas, which SHOULD and COULD have suited all generations. Whilst we knew the age of the ship was older (it’s certainly over due a refurb) and therefore it doesn’t offer the bells and whistles of the newer/ bigger ships in RCs fleet, there is frankly no excuse for the way in which this ship has been maintained. Whilst I would say it was generally clean there was noticeable wear to many parts of the “family size” cabin and elsewhere that is unacceptable. (Tatty sofas, creaky and damaged cabinets, marked walls and soft furnishings etc) okay, I can accept some of these points- nothing a bit of nautical botox couldn’t fix!!! The size of the room for a family was ridiculous. Luckily (or not) our 5 year old slept in our bed and our nearly 2 year old is a good sleeper, however the crib they supplied was more suitable for a newborn- about half the size of a regular travel cot/ pack and play!

What was most disappointing was the general poor quality of food. Notably the main restaurant was better than the Windjammer buffet but honestly if you are expecting better than 3star experience do not step foot in there! The salads were meh, but the hot food was school/ hospital cafeteria style, a huge lack of taste, freshness and zero finesse!!

I didn’t see the “entertainment”- not my vibe but I heard it was poor. What a shame!

Cabin Review

Tiny for a very young family of 4. (5 and 2 year old kids)

Clean but not spotless
