Wanted a Christmas cruise of 7 days duration and having travelled successfully with P&O previously we chose a Canary Island Cruise aboard the Azura.

P&O attract customers in this post covid period by stating that all adults must be fully vaccinated and should have the relevant paper work to demonstrate this. However, nobodies paperwork was checked and P&O can really have no idea on the vaccination status of passengers, this is a misleading statement aimed at getting people to book that have been given false assurances. Personally we feel only the unvaccinated are put at risk but I do resent being put to the inconvenience of obtaining paperwork for my party that P&O have no intention of checking.

We have always considered the bar/waiting staff, dining room staff and room stewards to be the jewel in P&O's crown, this trip was no exception and they are a credit to the their employers. The same could not be said of the reception staff on The Azura, who though polite seemed to want to send running all over the place to find someone to solve your problem rather than to deal with it themselves. On two occasions I was sent on long fruitless trips only to be told when I returned to reception "Oh OK I will email them then". They also showed little concern when a malfunctioning elevator trapped the hand of one of our party narrowly missing possible serious injury.

Cabin Review

Inside cabin on deck 9. Large cabin, walk in wardrobe, tea making facilities comfortable shower. Could ask no more.
