Cruised on NCL Escape 12/24/22 with 2 adult children. We have cruised many lines before but first and last time with NCL. From before, when they failed to notify our travel agent or us of a decrease in cruise fare and then would do nothing about it to the joke that they call Disembarkation, the Escape leaves a lot to be desired. There are only a few bright spots - the employees as they always had a smile on their face and the service was good most of the time. The lines for dining and shows were also fine given the sheer amount of people on the ship. We also had good weather (which NCL can not take credit for) and were able to go to Great Stirrup Cay which we heard from one guest was his first time there after 4 attempts!

Dining - service good especially in Specialty Dining restaurants & Garden Cafe. Did not feel they had enough staff in Manhattan, Taste or Savor. Had to ask several times for refills on water and seemed like the servers would get slammed and get no back up. Food was ok, honestly, have had better on RC & Carnival. Food was always lukewarm too. Coffee is crap, literally tastes like ash and we drink Costco coffee so no snobs here. Bottled water also should be included in the beverage package (which it may be now in 2023) but no one should have to pay $50 for bottled water or not be allowed to bring some onboard.

Shore Excursions - they cancelled one because of mechanical issues and then do not refund your credit card, you have to use it as onboard credit or sit in line to get cash back, this policy is ridiculous! Not to mention on Great Stirrup Cay they tell you you can rent snorkeling equipment and paddleboards on the island and when you try those people tell you oh no we are sold out you should have done that on the ship! We saw maybe 5 paddleboards and 30 snorkelers so obviously are not well-equipped for a 5,000 passenger ship.

Great Stirrup Cay

Nice and relaxing, rented a cabana and was great! Was not told had to book amenities on the ship otherwise would get 5 stars.
