My family and I had booked the explorer of the seas hoping for a wonderful vacation over the holidays. Little did we know it would completely turn us off of cruising for good. The customer service was absolutely atrocious. When we booked our room we had made sure that they were joining balcony rooms due to the fact that I have a large family and one room would not be enough. The lady who we booked with guaranteed that we would have joining balcony rooms, but when we arrived we discovered that there are not even joining balcony rooms on the ship. We had also called beforehand to order alcohol packages to be delivered to the room, and while we were ordering we asked if we could also order the same packages while we were on the cruise and the woman who we spoke to assured that we could. Then as we tried to order more found out it was not possible. I am a physician and my daughter had got an ear problem while we were away. She had went down to the medical Center to try to get ear drops, and they said she needed to get checked by a doctor which is acceptable. What was not acceptable is they continued to say that it would cost 250 to get checked. They would not allow her the ear drops without getting checked by the doctor. When she was checked by the doctor they prescribed her with the exact ear drops that we were trying to get in the first place which are around 10$. The doctor was a complete waste of money and time. The guest service workers know absolutely nothing about the ship, and that goes for the managers too. Each worker gives us different answers for questions that we had. This was one of the worst vacation experiences we have ever had and I am honestly shocked that a company this big and worth this much is aloud to treat their customers like this.
