Sail Date: Dec 2022

In june this year we were on britannia on a two week mediterranean cruise and did notice that standards and service had dropped. We didn't complain and thought we would see if things had improved on our trip later in the year on iona. Well how disappointed we were.

On arrival at the port side at our allocated time 14:15hrs we were met by cps staff, who appeared in a fluster at the volume of cars arriving. We had to join a queue in one of eight lanes, which took around twenty minutes to hand our car over and make our way to our designated point for case handover. Having handed our cases over without issue we made our way to the first floor of the terminal.

If you are still conscious of your personal space, forget it because this is where you will join hundreds of other passengers under one roof in very close proximity to each other. we were directed by the terminal staff along the many rows snaking towards the booking in desks which didn't take that long. Once booked in we were asked to make our way to area 6, take a seat and wait to be called. This took around twenty minutes and again we were on our way along the snake. From this point to actually getting onboard took a further fifteen minutes. So from start to finish around one hour to be onboard, not bad really, but it did get worse i can assure you.

Cabin Review

The cabin was beautiful, well furnished with a large sofa and we also had a window seat. Storage space was sufficient and enough space under the bed for case storage. However quite a narrow space between the bed and the wardrobe. Bathroom was sufficient and a nice touch was the shower cubicle rather than the usual shower curtain. No little luxuries like the miniature toiletries or cabin steward at night to turn your bed down and leave you chocolates each night. P&O cut backs.
