Christmas on the Chesapeake
We have done a fair amount of small ship cruising but not usually in the United States. A friend recommended American Cruise Lines when we wanted to see the Mississippi River. We did that trip this June and were so pleased with that experience that we immediately booked three more cruises with them. We chose to spend Christmas on the American Revolution Cruise on the Chesapeake. And we are so glad that we did.
On board the American Constitution we sailed from Baltimore to important sites of our American revolution. At each location there were multiple excursion opportunities with the exception of Christmas day when only Williamsburg was open and available. One of the things we are so pleased with about this cruise company is how many and varied excursions are offered at each docking. The cruise Director and excursions Director gave us ample information about each Opportunity so that we could choose what would make us happy. We were also impressed with how passengers with mobility issues were so matter-of-factly assisted by staff. There were a few younger passengers of high school age so the cruise director made it a point to help find appropriate things to occupy them.
