Literally, from the moment our transport from Munich dropped us off right on the dock where AmaMagna was moored in Vilshofen, Germany I was in love. She was so regal and all decked out in her Christmas finery. I was there for an exciting Christmas Market Cruise. I had heard so many wonderful stories about Europe's Christmas Markets that when my travel agent from House of Travel in Lodi, CA said she was planning a Danube cruise with Ama Waterways, I was first in line. My expectations were pretty high and AmaMagna and her crew did not disappoint me! The entire crew welcomed us with smiles and energy. Our group (about 32 of us traveling together) easily settled into our rooms The entire vessels was all decorated for Christmas and it was just magical inside. We were docked over night and there was a quaint little Christmas Market a short 300 yards from where we were docked. It made it extremely convenient to stroll around and drink Gluwein (Germany's favorite Christmas drink) and easily get back to the vessel. (See night shot attached)

Right from the beginning to the end, the food at all the venues was wonderful. My group had a fantastic dinner at Jimmy's Wine Bar (see photo) the 2nd night on board. I really have to commend the Chef, Cristian Gardin, for exceptional food. It was far better than the food on my two previous cruises with Oceania (Sirena) and Azamara (Pursuit).

The crew was amazing. Seriously, without exception, every crew member was attentive, happy and entertaining. So many great personalities. Our fantastic cruise manager, Raul, kept us laughing and informed with his nightly Sip & Sail updates and lounge talks. Our group spent evenings in the bar listening to Jozsef on the piano, dancing and being waited on by the terrific Bar Team. We had a real blast on the Christmas Carols and Santa visit night. The crew handed out presents to everyone and we sang and drank and danced (see photo). The entire lounge was full that night. I think every passenger was in attendance. A couple of wives commented, "my husband never dances, tonight he's dancing!!" The Christmas spirit was infectious. This cruise was 7 days and I could have stayed on for a few more. I can not wait to take another cruise with Ama. Until then, I'll just have to enjoy my sweet memories.

Balcony Stateroom

I've cruised with 5 other cruise lines and have not had a room better than the one I had on this AmaMagna cruise. I always choose a room category about mid range, usually french balcony. It was very clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. I don't mean for Christmas, just in general. The bed was quite comfortable and there was plenty of space for my clothes. I always over pack. I had 3 suitcases and I found a place for everything. The shower was the largest shower I have experienced on a cruise and that is both river and ocean cruises I have been on. I really couldn't have asked for anything more in the way of room accommodation.
