There were some good and some bad aspects to the cruise experience, overall P&O are providing a service and product reflective of their expected or anticipated guests and not aiming at 5 star levels for any of their services and price point.

The SHIP - overall liked the ship and the facilities generally provided onboard, much better and more cosy than the Allure of the Seas - mega ship, the public areas were all well presented and likely where the 80 million upgrading was spent. A good effort was made to impart a Chrissy feel to the boat and lift the atmosphere with decorations etc, not outstanding but much better than NCL- Jewel crappy efforts a few years ago. All staff and services were also very good.

The FOOD - like to say the food was great but it wasn't or at least not always.

Cabin Review

Overall the cabin layout was great and quite spacious, small 2 person sofa that converts to a double fold out bed, handy little occasional table and chair, large flat screen TV facing lounge, reasonable size balcony accessed off lounge area. Main bed in centre area of cabin with small desk onside and cupboard with fridge on other side, dividing the sleeping and lounge areas, a second large flat screen facing the bed (single remote for both), bedside cupboards and lighting plenty of storage space, drawers etc. Large hanging wardrobe and cupboard and the main bathroom at the front of the suite. Bathroom has bath with shower over and worked very well and much appreciated to having just the shower cubical, good vanity/sink with sufficient storage for most.

Some of the fittings in the suite did show the age of the boat and general wear and tear but not terrible, the sofa was however not comfortable for sitting on and tended to slide forward when sitting, did have some obvious wear. Bathroom also showed signs of wear and some patching for seams etc. Beds were pretty okay, not outstanding but quite good.

Overall really liked the layout and found the cabin very comfortable for our needs, very pleased even with the minor issues.

Toilet flush did not function correctly on a couple of occasions but likely to have been some sort of air-lock in the system that cleared without need for servicing, A/c was fine and managed the task well - which was fortunate for us as we heard quite a few other guests had serious issues with non-functioning A/c and needing fans or to leave cabin doors open to manage heat. Also lucky the first half of the cruise the weather was much cooler so in general didn't need to use a/c.

Cabin servicing was overall very good, stewards very friendly and accommodating.

There is no bar soap provided and only liquid from dispensers - which I don't like - so bring your own soap if you prefer as none was available on the ship.

Cabin was pretty well insulated from noise - except for kids running up and down the corridor on occasion.

Bottled water is available and provided to the cabin for a fee.
