This trip was on my birthday bucket list and I have looked forward to this trip for many years! The ship is beautiful, restaurants excellent, food variety excellent, Chef Ivan's cooking class was fun, entertaining, and a good learning experience and staff was exceptionally responsive and always upbeat.
Overall a great time with two exceptions: (1) our trip to Volos, Greece was disappointing (Traditional Greek Villages & Archaeological Museum). After our visit to the Museum (quite interesting), we took a 45 minute bus trip up to the top of the mountain to a small village only to walk into a tourist trap selling cheap "souvenirs," and not nearly enough time to explore the area...huge waste of time. This is not what we expected on a Viking tour. (2) We were also informed by the Captain that we would not be sailing to Nafplio (last stop before Athens) due to high winds, which was a real disappointment.
We took our first Viking river cruise in April from Paris to Normandy; this ocean cruise was a first for both of us, and we
Perfect size for two people!
