We have cruised with Viking before and the food and service was superb, that was the reason we chose them again, a huge mistake. The problems began at check in, it appeared to be very poor training as we have never experienced such a delay on any cruise. The suite was exceptional and the room stewards were fantastic. There was a major language and communication issue. All the staff were very polite and friendly but could not understand or get an order correct. Order a rum and coke, receive Diet Coke which I can’t stand. Assured before the cruise they served Beefeaters Gin and Seagrams Crown Royal, get on the cruise to be told not available, a completely wasted spirits package. It did not matter whether we ate in the dining room or the world cafe the food was never served hot. Blood red beef is not cooked ! Never experienced this on any cruise and we have been on more than twenty. On the fifth day my wife was quarantined due to Covid on the tenth day I was quarantined for Covid. We had room service for 11 days, the food was cold every day but one. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was terrible everyday. The tours we did get go on were mediocre at best. This was by far the worst value for a cruise we have ever experienced and will cancel our future cruise to Australia with Viking. Very unfortunate experience and incredibly disappointed.

Stateroom was excellent, well laid out. There was a leak somewhere allowing mold to grow by the balcony door.
