This was our first cruise post pandemic and we were all very excited to be back. Our family of 5 (3 adult children of 23, 20 and 16) were very excited to be back on the high seas with RCCL as were my wife and I. We have been on 4 previous RCCL cruises, 1 Disney cruise and one Norwegian cruise so we're not new at cruising.
On the good side the ship was clean and well maintained. The boarding process at Port Canaveral was easy and seamless if you boarded early, we heard from other guest who boarded later that it was really bad and parking was full and had to be pushed to employee parking. The staterooms were nice and the updates done to the Mariner in 2019 are really nice. Our stateroom attendant was awesome. We set the Escape room record and got out with 18 minutes and 23 seconds remaining which was really awesome. The water slides are really fun as well.
But overall we had a really poor experience on this cruise and this may be our last RCCL cruise unless we hear that they've made major changes in their operations, which I would think mean major changes at the C suite level, which I doubt will happen given their investment in the Epic class ships which I would never go on if you paid me. 7000+ guests on one ship, plus 4000 crew, no thank you.
The Cozumel port was nice but the merchants are very pushy.
