We chose the cruise because of the itinerary, travelled with two friends. We were all platinum members. We were looking forward to a relaxing time and excited for the planned stops. Stops at Bora Bora and Pago Pago were cancelled prior to the ships departure, very disappointing for many of the passengers. Understand this was out of Princess control. Embarkation at San Pedro was the easiest and friendliest we have encountered, being Canadian had to pickup our medallions at the port. Our room was ready for us and our wonderful steward was soon knocking on the door to introduce himself. So pleased with the way the muster drill is now handled. All on the room TV, then go to the muster station to register. By the time we had had some lunch, the cases were in our room. Although the ship is outdated in furnishings, This was the cleanest ship we have ever been on. We understand the Crown had recently been in dry dock for repairs.

Now we will get to some of the problems that need to be fixed. On the four days out to Hawaii the weather was cool, and so was the ship in many indoor areas. Some attention required to the overcooling of the ship,

On the whole the staff were pleasant and eager to please, friendly but not pushy as per previous cruises. It was good to have a dinner without being interrupted for a photograph shoot, or up sell to the speciality dining venues, or wine tasting event. Many of the staff were new to cruising and in need of some more training. We had purchased coffee plans prior to getting on the ship as we enjoy the speciality teas and coffees.I had to continuously request that I get my Cappuccino and teas in a large cup and saucer while sitting in the International cafe. A paper cup with hot water and a tea bag does not work for me. Only once did I order tea and it arrived in a tea pot with and a cup and saucer( I was served by a seasoned, mature employee), the milk however was in a paper cup. One guest did ask where did I get the cup and saucer from, I told her you have to ask and refuse the paper cup.Food in the international cafe was always enjoyable, albeit you had to get there early to get the almond croissants.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Shower stall too small. Plenty of hanging space and clothes storage. Out dated room, more USB ports required.
