Have just returned from circumnavigation of Australia on Queen Elizabeth. I chose Cunard as I have always found them to provide impeccable 5-star service, am Diamond level and have previously enjoyed all aspects of cruising with Cunard.
When I started cruising with Cunard in 2003, the ships and the whole experience were all 5-star but now QE would barely rank a 3-star rating in nearly all areas.
Whilst embarkation was smooth, no one bothered checking the Covid test results which had been required to embark, the same three questions were asked that had been asked on-line to which you could respond any way you pleased, a photograph was taken despite one having already been uploaded through the website. Not checking Covid test results was negligent and irresponsible.
Cabin was small, just adequate. Some amenities are no longer provided unless requested of the room steward. Large containers of shampoo, hand lotion, shower gel instead of the small ones previously provided. Tea and coffee making is a plus. Carpets are very tired. Balcony is a good size. Very cheap pencils instead of pens are provided.
