My wife and I wanted to go thru the Panama Panel, and see Macho Picchu, which this cruise covered nicely. Missed the political upheaval in Peru by about 2 wks, so lucky there. Traveling to 3rd world countries, Ecuador and Peru, is always a worry, so we had purchased a Medjet membership for the voyage, plus the optional extraction for political upheaval. Fortunately we didn't have to use, but you never know...

The crew was short about 20%, but everyone tried to make the best of it. The food was great as usual, cabin stewards were great. Mostly a great experience. Probably because of the crew shortage, we occasionally had to stand in line for quite awhile to get shuttle tickets. Seems as if that could have been handled on the HA ap. Speaking of the ap, it was a little aggravating. We purchased the wifi option for 1 electronic device for the cabin, so both my wife and I had to sign on to the ap in my name on my phone and on her phone. Which made the 'chat' function not work between the 2 of us. Could still chat with other friends on the ship, just not with each other. Talked with customer service about this, and they were aware of this, just no fix.

I wish the evening programs, and the talks during the day were recorded, so you could watch on your TV. They do record the port talks, just not the other stuff. So you had an amphitheater that holds maybe 500 people, with 600 trying to get in. So to get a seat, had to arrive 30 minutes early. (Customer service said it was company policy not to record the lectures/talks.)

Cabin Review

Signature Superior Verandah Suite

Large room with sofa. Bathroom had tub and shower. Large TV. Was under the Lido deck, so usually on most ships would be too noisy. However, on HA, almost everyone is in bed by 9, so no problems with noise.
