MS ROTTERDAM. The newest in the HAL fleet. In design and build In the beautiful traditional ship design. Although all the Pinnacle class ships are similar in design each with its own interior style design, the Rotterdam’s main design change is its single funnel not the usual double funnel. Like all the other HAL ships it is not glitzy! It does have a subdued WOW and it’s traditional Dutch elegance. Lots of public rooms, bars, 2 pools and decks and some good entertainment venues. Excellent staff service. FOOD! Good yet Predictable. Main dining room is grand. In the dining room they do have to master their “any time” dining or go back to 6:30 and 8:30 dinner reservations. For the HAL standard of service is not nice to be given a pager while you wait to be buzzed to eat. Staff and personnel are none the less extraordinary. One downside: the SUN BAR, top deck’s great and unique area of the ship, I did not see it open. Not well promoted if opened. Sunsets would have been spectacular. Overall HOLLAND AMERICA LINE remains a quality cruise line.
Excellent cabin! Comfortable and spacious with a Great balcony. In November I sailed across the Atlantic on celebrity’s apex infinity cabin: bad!
Wonderful port. Delightful and friendly people.
Love the city, the island and its people. A unique island in the Caribbean.
