My husband I chose this cruise as a last minute getaway. We were able to go to two incredible ports of call, that really only Carnival Corp can offer. Our ports of call included Amber Cove and Grand Turk. My spouse was very impressed with the complementary spa on board and the many spa services that were offered (of course for an additional fee). I was very happy with the dining venues on board and we even booked 3 specialty dining venues (The Steakhouse and The Chef's Table experience). The Carnival Cruise Line Chef's Table experience continues to provide one of the most impressive dining experiences at sea. It probably needs to be said that the ship could use some repairs and our state rooms were very outdated. However, I am that believes that cruises should be judged primarily on the itinerary, service, excursions and dining provided. Carnival Corp continues to excel in these areas. Our excursion to the Damajuaga Waterfalls and Monkeyland were a highlight of the trip. I have always been impressed with Carnival Adventures and I continue to believe that Carnival Corp provides the most incredible excursions in the budget cruise line category. The violin trio on board was absolutely stunning, along with most musical venues onboard. I was very unhappy with the "art auction" that was on board and I still think that these cruise line "art auctions" remain a borderline scam. You do not actually bid on what you think the art is worth, but on what is the lowest bid Park West has approved. Most of the art work that they sell on board seems to resell on eBay for much less. That said, this was absolutely a magical adventure and it is great that Port Canaveral is so close to Orlando, FL and all of the magical attractions that are available in Orlando prior to setting sail.

Cabin Review

We had a veranda cabin. The room was spacious, but very dated. Our room steward kept the room very clean and she was extremely attentive.

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

Beautiful port of call. It was also beautiful to see the stunning waterfalls near Amber Cove.
