We took this cruise for two reasons, we needed to spend cruise credits that Regent would not extend beyond 12/31 and there was a post-cruise safari at the end. We were not disappointed. In fact, for my husband, it was the trip of a lifetime.
Seven Seas Voyager is a luxury ship and Regent is doing well in getting things back on track post-COVID. The ship is older, so in some ways not as nice as the Explorer or Splendor, but we had a roomy, well-appointed penthouse and a fun, indulgent experience. The GM & Cruise Director set the tone of trying to get to know guests and make them feel welcome and appreciated. Several staff members addressed us by name and made every effort to meet our requests. There were also several new staff that were untrained, but hopefully, that will be resolved soon. You could feel the effect of new staff and nearly at-capacity crowds being an adjustment, but it’s an opportunity to return to exceptional service in the coming months.
We enjoyed the food at all venues, found more than adequate variety. The Maitre D’s in each restaurant did their best to greet people by name and assist in caring for guests. The entertainment, lectures, and activities were fun and well attended.
We love the layout of this Penthouse where you enter into the living area and the bedroom part is to the side. It was roomy and well-appointed. The room stewards and butler were exceptional.
The balcony is too small and crammed with two chairs and a table, so sitting out there wasn’t as pleasant as one would hope.
